IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

It is essential that the users hold patents for the preparation of respiratory mixtures, and that they follow safe work procedures and comply with all requisites as concerns the installation and the function of the mixer with oxygen and/or other gases.
(We wish to bring the users attention to the current legislation in force in each country as concerns work health and safety and the 1988 Provision relative to the control of substances harmful to health).
The appliances are safe and do not constitute a risk to health providing that they are used in an appropriate manner in accordance with the instructions manual. It is necessary to make a regular check (according to the working hours) and at least once a week, of all the connections between the piping and fittings, ensuring that all the sealing elements are fully tightened. Bear in mind that as gas is involved it is necessary to keep away from flames and heat sources as there is a risk of damage and personal injury.
Before undertaking the maintenance and dismantling operations, isolate the electricity supply and check the closure of the oxygen and/or helium cylinder cock. The guarantee will not be valid in the event of the incorrect or improper use of the complete system of air mixture preparation enriched with oxygen and/or helium, and the LM company will not accept liability for any eventual damage caused such as:
Re-charging with O2 exceeding 40%, charges affected using polluted air, knocks, falls as well as damage caused by fires or explosions as the result of incorrect mixtures affected by non-patented staff or persons not specialized in the preparation of binary and ternary mixtures.
A patented operator must always be present during the re-charging operations so that he may immediately take the necessary action in the event of mixtures of over 40%.

WARNINGS
Before use and installation carefully read the advice given below:
This mixing system is of continuous flow type, when undertaking all recharging operations it must always be kept under control by personnel specifically trained in the preparation of binary and ternary mixtures.
This is in order to ensure that: the oxygen flow does not tend to rise, that the flow of gases (02 and He) is neither halted or suspended when its runs out or that the compressor does not stop but that the oxygen flow remains constant (in the event of electricity power failure, lack of fuel or when the charge is empty).
Never add 0xygen enriched air into an old or worn cylinder, because as the result of a lack of hold between the piston, lubricant and the head section a percentage of over 21 % 02 may come into contact with the oil derived from the hydrocarbons, and there is a risk that the heat generated by the compression may cause an explosion or fire risk, which as well as damaging the compressor may also cause serious damage to both the operator and any other persons that may be present.
Therefore we advise that the manufacturer be contacted in order to check the compressor before starting up the mixing system itself
The LM UNICO mixer has been designed for the preparation of Nitrox mixtures from EAN 22 to a maximum of EAN 80, and Heliair and Trimix mixtures. In order to ensure a safe use for sporting purposes with non-oxygen dedicated equipment and in order to ensure compatibility with the current oil lubricated compressors (take note of the previous point), it is important not to exceed a level of 40% O2•
It is possible to reach a level of over 40% O2, but it may be effected only by using specifically dedicated oxygen compressors. It is therefore important to never exceed a maximum value of 40% O2 Should the gauge indicate a percentage exceeding 40% of 02, immediatelv disconnect the oxygen attachment from the mixer and promptly close the oxygen cylinder. To further guarantee the safety of the underwater cylinder it is important to check the percentaee of the required mixture usine a gauge differing to that used to analyze the charge. The air suction holes of the mixer cylinder must always be kept free of any covering during the charging operation and with compressor on, Covering ring must be used solely and exclusively for effecting transfers of helium.
The It is compulsory and obligatory that the operator entrusted with the preparation of blends is duly qualified having attended a specific training course to qualify him as "respiratory blend technician" and that he has the specific experience and knowledge to be able to charge blends without the risk of error or danger to of any type or to anyone.
